Don't feel bad.  I didn't even know the name of James Jamerson until somewhere in the '90s.

This is huge...pretty much every Motown hit not played by James was played by Bob.

How many "white" musicians could be mistaken as "black"...?

Certainly 2/3rds of the MG's did their best and Duane Allman could be pretty "black" in his time...

I guess one of the highest compliments we could pay BB is that he did so much for that classic sound...
