A tribute to Ernest Borgnine  :)

Highlander

Not many from his era left now...

There was a lovely little cameo he made in a film called Red two years back, last "new" work I saw...

God rest him...

Our hockey team changed our name to "Ernie's Army" a few seasons back (after he revealed, at age 91, that masturbation was his secret to longevity).
Now we'll be sporting his picture on our jerseys.
Sorry to see him go.
Have Fun.  Be Nice.  Mean People Suck.

I remember that interview.  He was definitely a character.  I think he was doing a tour promoting his wife's business on that one.
Telling tales of drunkenness and cruelty

Pilgrim

Didn't he also appear in the Warehouse 13 series?

Ernie proved that you don't have to look like Brad Pitt to succeed if you actually had talent.  A great guy for sure.  RIP

I love how he comes across as a sweet old guy even while saying that.

RIP Mermaid Man...

Highlander

I know he started acting quite late on but his death has got me thinking and I can't think of any mainstream actors that are still around that were in his age-bracket...?

He was the oldest living Oscar winner which now falls to Sidney Poitier - ten years his junior...!

Olivia de Havilland and her sister Joan Fontaine are still around though they haven't been active for years. Angela Lansbury and Betty White are getting up there.

Professor Irwin Corey has always been more a comedian than an actor but he's almost 98 and still doing occasional comedy gigs.
