Excellent reminder....I'm working on that.

When it all sounds good you can't make me stop smiling ;D. When it all sounds bad, well I guess you could say, I'm not the smiliest guy in town >:(.
I am not a poker player either :P.

Well that's reason to smile or laugh at him for that matter,  Just face the front.

I have a choice. I can look at the audience and smile, or I can look at the neck and hit most of the right notes.

Ya know, there's a helluva lot of good to be said about this method ;D

I try to alternate.  When I feel my smile turning into a forced grimace, I decide it's time for a look at the neck.

Also - I installed the Labella flats on my J bass about 11:00 and we played at 2:30 Sunday.  They sounded great and the gig went well.  I intonated, then tuned them one step high, and down-tuned once I got to the gig.

MUCH happier with the feel of the Labella flats on that J.  And the E string is still like a bass pedal on an organ...it just goes on and on....perfect for a piece like Bob Seger's Main Street where I play primarily whole notes.  On that one, I kick in some reverb to hold the notes full longer.

That's what that pre-gig beer is for.
