I had to laugh very hard:

"Every kid dreamt of being in a rock band, but very few dreamt of being the bassist. It was always the instrument you got relegated to; a few notches above the triangle. We will say this however, the heavy duty strings make for some good looking bracelets."

I think someone over on TB was recently looking old strings to do something like that.

Years(decades) ago I was a roadie for a band called The Outfield on their first US tour. One show their bassist, Tony, broke a string. I wrapped it up and put it in my bag. I gave it to a girl friend and she wore it as a bracelet.

I wear two of them on my right wrist at every gig. Except I made them myself out of old E strings quite a while ago. $16.00 each? What a ripoff.
