tiny tiny rant. after looking over tb for several weeks i have reached some conclusions.

I was a charter member of the forum when it first went up. For the first couple years, it was a really cool place, much like here, but as it became more popular and began to attract larger crowds, advertisers and shill posters descended and it became what it has remained; a thinly veiled infomercial, and a bad one at that.

ibanez and warwick sales would suffer without it.

Ironically, neither of those two probably spend a dime in advertising there. It's just what "the kids" like.

Some, not all, of that is intentional. It is in the interest of those who hawk bullshit to keep the masses ignorant.

i would consider it an honor to bee banned from that place.

I've enjoyed that honor for a few years now, courtesy of ad dollars and "honest" forum administrators.

At one time, I actively posted at the FDP, TB, BaBP and DudePit.  yikes, I was a bit nuts trying to keep up.  Then I got the luthier bug and joined two related forums and dropped all but the Pit.  When that went under I went to BadAss, but was never really crazy about it.  Since Dave and Uwe got the ball rolling here, i haven't gone back to the others.  This is the best collection of bassists one could ever wish to hang around with.  Say no more, say no more.....a wink is as good as a nod to blind horse!

 At the moment tb is proving itself to be a less than accepting place. There is a thread on Gibson quality that has gotten a bit out of hand. I much rather spend my time here than on tb.
