According to the website, this is going to be Hill's bass on the upcoming tour.

I agree, though, that he always plays pretty basses.

I kinda like it 'cept for the flipped headstock. I am sure they will ask way to much for it being the plank that it is.

If they'd roll it out as a Squier with a nice paint job, I'd be in line for one. I don't want one that looks like it was attached with a chisel and chainsaw.

You guys must be kidding, have you got any idea of how long it takes to beat a bass up like that?
As a lefty player i've got so used to righthanded necks that i find it much easier to tweek the machine heads on a reversed headstock,
The price, on this side of the pond, is "only" 3399€....

Street price is a mere $4800 here.

Thumbs down on this one, at any price.

A Squier or Mexican Dusty-bass would be cool.

Dusty plays different P's. Almost all slab bodies, almost all reversed headstocks. Some with TV Jones, some with DeArmond humbuckers and some with normal ' 51-'57 P pickups. Are those Fenders or made by Bolin or Roman?

Denis

I like it on the face of it.
Is that supposed to be a facsimile of this one, but with a different everything?

It's cool in its own way, but I can't STAND fake wear and tear. That is so flippin lame. Go out and PLAY the damn thing and F it up yourself!

A friend of mine used to manage a bar which often had bands come in. One day a band was unloading prior to a show and he saw the bass player dragging a brand new American P-bass across the pavement. His parents had just bought him that bass and "it looked too nice". Little shit.

IIRC John Bolin made some Fender-style basses for him that were based on his early Precision. So maybe we have Fender copying a Bolin copying a Fender.

I'm a fan of of the simple bass - I like a one pickup bass.  This thing in concept isn't bad but not for $4800!  IMO it's a $900 bass.

I don't think I've seen him play an actual Fender since they came back from their hiatus in the 80s
