A somewhat rare heavy snowfall here in Seattle has allowed me to play hooky from work today, yay!

A wonderful day of Bass Guitars, electric trains and later, view the classic ealy '70 war move "The Battle of Britain"  The plucky R.A.F. vs Goering's boys - Life is good  ;)

Much as it wanted to go for a drive in the snow, the Subu got the day off.......

So many T Birds, nice to have the time and a 200watt practice rig set up  ;D

MUCH better idea than trying to navigate downtown Seattle hills while the nutballs bounce off everything in sight!

Luckily, no Hellcats...  ;D

As always The RAF boys in the Hurri's and Spit's prevailed, it's just a great airplane movie. Keith Parks and especially Dowding's characters are flawlessly played.

I find the irony that the Spitfires take a starring role but there were many many more Hurricanes involved in this time period...

We had a Eurofighter fly over yesterday evening - resplendant with afterburner...  a couple of them were involved in exercises over London in the dark... there will be a contingency based at a local airport for the Olympics, just in case...

Glamour girls in the spotlight Kenny, I like Keith Parks in his white flying kit and Hurricane.

At work, I'm in Boeing Field's flightpath, I get 787, 748-8 prototypes, plus the occasional AWACS or B-17, and a lot of airfreight UPS/Fedex, it ain't bad!

They only had three working Hurricanes for the film, quite a few more Spitfires.

Good article on the production, plane sourcing and model building for the film:

I found a torrent for the "Making of B of B" very interesting , we must not forget that if the BF-109 had another 30mins endurance Uwe would own ALL our Basses also Gibson would be run correctly ;),
Cheers
