ripper choke

hi guys,does anyone know where to source a ripper choke?i made the mid range cricuit using the choke in my eb2 and it works great in there,i think it might be just what i need in my eb4l.

The choke was made around a steel bolt, a washer and a nut. That was a Bill Lawrence design. He used the same choke in the L6-S. It's a humbucking choke, having two coils wound in opposite directions. The bolt acted as a core to the inductor.

Do you know what kind of wire and how much turns on this thingie? That could be handy!

That's interesting. I wouldn't have thought it used 42 gauge wire, but who knows? I'll have to try winding one and see how it goes.

Maybe I'll drop Bill Lawrence a line and see if he can shed any info on the inductor. It might be very similar to his Q filters.

Q-filter is 3H, so those are close.
