First CAR Grabber I see - only came across CAR G 3s before, but it's logical that some Grabbers like that crept out (only seen a black one with ebony board many years ago on ebay though, they seem to be rarer than the G3s) in the last run too. This one  - a  very late 1982 - also has a three piece maple neck, another thing only bestowed upon the last run (and not even all of them, one piece necks were still used too) when Grabbers and G 3s began emulating the then new Victory Standards ... Just the ebony board is missing to make bliss complete, but I might go after this one if no one else does here ...

I am grateful that you have begun learning German now that German administrative and fiscal rule is imminent in Greece once again.  8) 8) 8) It's like we never even left ...

Bismark would be so proud.

And good luck getting the Grabber. Looks good.

of any CAR basses that pop up i have not seen one in true candy apple red imo. they are closer to  chinese red or fire engine red. they are just not dark enough. i'm taking my color cue from the candy apple paints that are used on hot rods and custom cars and trucks. saw a nice 1955 chevy pickup in true CAR yestertday. in guitar land my lowly kramer p is the closest to a CAR i have seen. i sure your results will vary....

I have faith in you. After all, you can't do much worse to this country than its own politicians.

The pics are deceptive, if that CAR is like my CAR on the G3, then it is almost metallic-burgundish. But I also have a CAR Victory Custom and that is much lighter. And my CAR Victory Standard is just burgundy, not even noticably metallic. Like Fiesta Red (which goes from orange to red), CAR comes in a lot of variations.

I came, saw and bidded. The three piece neck has this one escape the "no collecting for fins" clause, besides my two other Grabbers are fretless or have an alder body.

It'll go nicely with my Grabber Blue.

edit: an apostrophe and a "t" can make wonders with the meaning of a sentence...

Haha, if that justifies it for you that's fine with us Uwe. Guess there a lot of more basses you're allowed to buy now!
