circuit board replacement?

I have a friend who asked me about finding a circuit board for an Acoustic B20 combo. I did an online search for a schematic but could only find the owners manual which didn't have any service info. Do any of you guys know where I can find that info and source the board? I figured I should at least ask.

I don't know if one exists. Let me ask some of my tech buddies who do warranty work, but I'm pretty sure that there is no service network for the GC Acoustic line and hence, no parts or schematics to be had.

Thanks! It's a cheap amp and not irreplaceable, but I appreciate your checking so I can pass it on and let my buddy know what his options really are.

Odds are that for ANYTHING in that line, replacement is going to be the cheaper course. Most new amps are almost zero-serviceable because amp companies want repeat business in turnovers. Experienced techs can still fix some problems, but most of the time, it's not worth your money or their effort.

My gut feeling unfortunately proved correct: there is no service network for them. There is no support beyond warranty exchanges. Has a tech had a look at it? There's not much to those amps and I imagine most of their parts are pretty common, certainly nothing proprietary.

Thanks for checking. I passed on the info. I don't know whether the guy who asked is a tinkerer. He's smart, but that doesn't mean he can open up an amp without blowing himself up so we'll see...

There shouldn't be anything in there too dangerous provided he unplugs it first.

That is true for most of electronic stuff today, unfortunately.
