It's a Korina, not a maho TBird, so it sounds a little brighter and upfront. And the pups are sixties replicas.

I sometimes wish Gibson was a bit more experimental on woods. I love maho, make no mistake, it is my favorite tone wood, but I wouldn't mind a full maple bird.

Or one with bubinga wings and purpleheart nine ply neck.  :gay:

I guess you can play an all maple RD for a maple-ish Thunderbird-ish sound?

Gibson has more important things to do...I don't.  How about a 1 piece 'burst flame maple with maple neck and single ThunderBucker 66MAX and L1K passive 3 pot tone system?  Bound body and set neck optional.  Sorry, no through neck...yet. ;D

You been sneaking round the back of Gibson's woodyard...? ;D

If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

Judging by the exclusively solid finishes of their recent bass intros they don't have anything as nice as I can get  ;)

But that is set neck. Would a neck thru maple TBird sound like a true long scale humbucker Ric?

I've been toying with the idea of a Ric with mahogany wings and an extra pair of humbuckers in the T-Bird positions...

C'mon, I'm not any more disturbed than any of you other guys!  :P

How different is the sound of an NR and a Reverse, then re-pose the question...?

It has happened before. A silverburst Explorer I mean. Look at this (a Dethklok Thunderhorse Signature model, Dethklok being some - grunt! - death metal band I've never heard of):

Me like, but I think it is proof that a pg would have taken away from rather than add to the design. Of course the binding is an upgrade touch.

You might want to check out Dethklok. I think they would appeal to you on multiple levels. Murderface even plays a TB Studio 5'er!

Do they sing or is it cookie monster vocals? I can't take more of that than what you find on modern Bullet for my Valentine or Slipknot CDs.

Just follow the link. I'll be tremendously surprised if you don't approve.
