The author has way too much specific info on the current rockabilly-poser scene to be an outsider and that article reads VERY sarcastically, almost tongue-in-cheek, in places. I'm guessing that Christwire's editors are either very slack in their proofreading or hopelessly out of the loop in terms of what constitutes acceptable conservative commentary. I REALLY like it!

Read some of the other articles, just as hilarious.  I smell 'The Onion' or something similar.

Christwire is a parody site. Ever hear of Poe's Law? Christwire is a Poe.

Well, NOW I have thanks to you, kind sir! All too true. The problem exists partly (mainly?) due to the fact that there are a certain number of us that do not have the ability to recognize irony/sarcasm/parody. I didn't learn this until my first year of college. These types have to be taught how to recognize it.

..kinda OT, but the Walmarts around here HAVE Jerry Reed CD's and David Allen Coe, too. Maybe it's a regional thing, but the country sections here are actually MOSTLY true country. Current pop-country is the exception rather than the rule. Since it's the only thing open on my 2 AM lunchbreak, whenever I need to get away from the building I hang out at one close to work. One of the night guys there, John, is a fellow bass player. I had on one of my 'too many basses' t-shirts one night and he asked me if I played. I laughed when he said, "You're probably into that flashy stuff, but I'm just a rock guy." Seriously... I look like I just stepped offstage at a Skynyrd concert most nights!

I have no idea what's in any store CD section anymore, I'll almost always buy online.

I'm not interested in a streaming service. The major labels have almost nothing I want anyway.

Now if Bear Family Records started streaming, I might be interested, but they won't even sell mp3 downloads of albums, much less individual tracks.

There's some serious country on their site... :o ;D

irony/sarcasm/parody = The basis for at least 90% of all Australian humor IMO.  For that reason its common to hear from Australian comedians how hard it is to make a living in the US.

Case in point: in the past 3 or 4 years,  probably a dozen people have sent me Clark and Dawe's "the front fell off" bit thinking it was real.

John Clarke and Bryan Dawe are pure geniuses IMO  ;D   "Its OK because the ships been towed outside the environment" Gold, black gold that is!
