Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

Oh WAAAoooWWW, the birds and the trees, mannnnn.

Did you find some sugar cubes left over from the 60's?

That was a poorrrrr attempt at wrrrriting wort the Scot's speak... ;D (beware of the brown acid maaannn!)

Anyway, there will be the essential detour to the Muir of Ord Distillery for my personal stash (Don't fall over Mark - a bottle of my prefered Single Malt (pretty much only available at the distillery shop as it almost all goes to Japan) will last me quite a few months, maybe )

Just found out we can get free access to the Calanais standing stones 24/7 whilst we are staying there (a farmhouse adjacent to the site) - I've been going to the Isles since the year I was born spending most of the summers there when younger and this is one of my favourite places on the planet - very Pagan and predates Stonehenge - much more rugged than that rather clinical monument...

Wait...what? You're going somewhere without 24/7 internet access?

Well, not quite 24/7, Dave, but if I sit outside the visitors centre at Cananais (Ned Callanish ;D) I can piggyback (with permision, no piracy here dear chaps/chapesses) off the centres wifi and destroy the peace and quiet I promised you... not...

Well, on the way up (0330 start on Friday) visited the family in Falkirk and then on to Glencoe (any Campbell's on line...? I have Big-MacDonald lineage, so...) where we stopped over and visited a certain Castle known to MPFC fans and being my (families) ancestral home - Castle Stalker - and caught the sunset - no Grail's available, yet again...

... and yes Mark and Bret, on day two I managed to secure a couple of bottles of Scotlands Finest dram but I'll drink to your health later... ;)

Gonna post this as I've just realised low on power... (technology...)

On day two we visited part of the Harry Potter set - there is a significant location that has great relevance to my family, and great significance to Scottish history (Glenfinnan - where Prince Charles Edward Stuart raised his flag and started the failed Jacobite uprising - not a relative but my family were on the losing side; a reason why they are now Islanders as the other option was the hangman's noose :o)

HP fans can view the famous viaduct, and where Hogwarts would be located (CGI location) from the monument located at the head of the loch...

Now over 1000 shots (not Malt, Mark...!) on this trip so far...!

Thanks for the photos and update.

Quoteno Grail's available, yet again...

Not even a grail-shaped beacon?

Those damn old hippies have been playing with their stones and forgot to put them away again!  ;)

great shots Ken, I always love a good viaduct, having been a stone mason in a past life.
