Cheap Trick dodges the bullet .....
« on: July 18, 2011, 06:42:41 AM »
Unreal. I've played this festival for the last 13 years but didn't attend this year. On average, 30,000+ fans in attendance every night ..... all I can say is lucky the high winds were hitting the front of the stage making it topple backwards as opposed to the unimagineable alternative.

"I think it's only proper that I play until the last note of a set, then fall over and die. The band won't have to play an encore and they'll still get paid for the gig" (Dr. John)

I saw a video yesterday that is included in this news report:

I'm glad the band is OK.

Now THAT is what you call a squall...!

Seen them whip-in across the bay on the home Island - rain coming at you like stair-rods... luckily we (generally) don't get the tornados many of you guys get through the States...

Very lucky people...

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...
