I am not sure what to make of that. Looks wrong can't put my finger on it.

There certainly wasn't any production MIA  Fender Tele Bass in 93 and it's definitely not from the custom shop. Also it has a 4-saddle toploader bridge, unlikely Fender would have done that on a reissue of a first edition Tele Bass.

The serial number is wrong. There should be no gap between the N and the digits. Also, in 93 it would have been on the front of the headstock. The truss rod adjusting hole location is wrong for a US Fender of that era, too far from the nut. And the grain on that headstock doesn't look like North American rock maple.

I suppose it could possibly be an Asian Fender never imported here, with faked US serial number. More likely it's a parts bass.

You betcha. "it was under their father's bed for a long long time" LOL! You might expect that on a 53 or 63 bass, not a 93.

Bottom line, somebody's gonna get fleeced.

Up to $900 with a day and a half left.  ???

Over at the FDP the agreement seems to be that this is a Jay Turser JTB-401 body with a Squier 50's CV neck (or the Jay Turser's neck with a reshaped headstock) and a new decal.

Could be. One way or another it's most certainly a fraud, whether the seller knows it or not.

Good. That may mean it was an honest mistake on his part and he got screwed when he bought it. Or not.
