I bought this neck a few years ago and have no idea or type of wood. Can anyone help me identify it please?

i had an epi eb2 type bass with the same neck. not a rivoli. somewhere in the 70's.

Looks like one of their Japanese necks from the '70's.  Maple & rosewood most likely.  I'm sure someone who knows more than me will chime in.

it looks like an ET280 except for the dot location and the binding, that is what is throwing me off thinking is is an ET280.

i am thinking so Nofi. the center looks like Luan or what is sold as Philippine Mahogany = total crap. Ebay time!

Carlo seems to think the center part might be what is called Asian Beech even though it is listed in the catalog as Maple. It sure doesn't look like Maple.

sniper my remark was about the bass in general although the neck was very uncomfortable in my opinion. did you ever just look at a bass and think this can't be good. it was one of those.
