It's an Epiphone.  You get a quick glimpse of the headstock around 0:36.

Seriously: The guy from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. He plays Rivolis and EB-2s all the time and says he favors his Rivoli over the Gibbie. Plus he's sufficently young and BRMC have that Indie Rock image the Epi crowd goes for.

The guy from Mando Diao has played them too.

That would be Robert Levon Been. His dad was a terrific bass player (Michael Been who fronted The Call) - though usually played an Ampeg scroll bass with a P-bass pup.

Said bass, from some pics I took a few months ago.

Digresion our specialty!

I won't be interested in a reissue of that.  No taped up jack, and it has to have a pickguard.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

I'm still waiting on the good folks from BaCH to finally come up with their EB2/Rivoli tribute (both long and short scale ones)

Here's a video with the prototype.
Lots of bass...  :o  On stage I hardly heard it.  :-[

Cool

Lots of bass, and a whole lotta neck too. That is a long neck, eh?

Rob

That sounds awesome!
Any idea as to what will the short scale length be?

Basvarken

Yes the BaCH that I have is long scale.
The short scale will be the same length as the original EB2/Rivoli.

I'd love to see Epiphone build a faithful re-issue of the Rivoli as shown in the pic on their blog!

Well if they do a shorty, they could make then an EB6 copy too, right? :D

Nice little fill in the chorus, Rob! You sparse player.  :-X

If they did one with all accurate specs, a nitro finish and a decent pup, I'd buy one for sure.
I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

Love that bass, both soundwise and concerning your way of playing, both in style and your choice of playing close to the neck pup. Gives such a nice groove.

Bargeon

Is Steve Swallow on one in this vid? about 3:40 in

Dyslexics untie!

eb2

Looks like a modded EB-2D.  Rear pup looks like a DiMarzio, although it may be a homebrew variant if the vid predeates the model one.  It has two rows of poles, like the lead pup. That one is not a DiMarzio, which leads me to suspect homebrew futzing.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.
