Nice in Chicago today......Look at those dogs  :)

Maybe time to get the lawnmower out!
Resident T Bird playing Drag Queen www.thenastyhabits.com  "Impülsivê", the new lush fragrance as worn by the unbelievable Fräulein Rômmélle! Traces of black patent leather, Panzer grease, mahogany and model train oil mingle and combust to one sheer sensation ...

We've heard such marvellous things about these barkless creatures here, maybe he could train them to do the lawn moving for him?

I've heard John is creative when it comes to avoiding physical labor.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

That time will pass quickly. There's usually only a short window of opportunity when they're willing to help.

Like never ! -  but money is great motivator. My son will be heading to college this fall so I will loose my strong back for heavy lifting-I can't, I have two eroded lower discs. Lifting is out of the question. It sucks getting old!

Amen Brother!  My right shoulder has hurt off and on for the last three or four years, nothing major, Tylenol and the hot pad usually got me back on track in a day or two.  Fast forward to this year - damn thing has hurt for three months steady and getting worse and is affecting my entire right arm - the wife finally convinced me to see the orthopedic today.  How does a middle aged guy inflame his rotator cuff when he does nothing that strenuous? ???  I mean, I drive a screw driver and a laptop for a living - I'm not throwing speed balls or anything.  Next thing you know I'll need a truss to carry in the groceries ;)

And the cortisone shot(s) weren't a load of fun either....

Sorry for the hijack and the whinning...... I need to go take my Metamucil

Barklessdog

Where have you been hiding?

I was in a similar situation and found the only way for me to control the constant pain is by working out & swimming, but only things that work for my condition, not make it worse. It took a year of trial & error, but it now works. Lifting is out of the question still. The problem is I feel great,, forget and lift something as simple as our dogs and my back flares up.

I've been in troll mode for a few months - I'm working mucho ovetime - up to 13 hour days and I've been out of it and skimming the board with the rare post.  To be blunt I'm pretty much fried and running on autopilot.  Hopefully things slack off a bit here soon - told the boss today that a couple of months of disablity and therapy were starting to look good ;D

If exercise would help I'm all for it - my shoulder hurt so bad that I started using my arm differently which in turn agravated everything else - so add tendonitis, sore thumb and numb hand to the mix.  Growing old can suck >:(

BTW - love the Redbuds.  You should try to take a long drive through deep east Texas in late February - the Redbuds grow wild, and profusely, and with the hardwoods still dormant the redbuds are blooming everywhere and are something to see.

Barklessdog

I love red buds as well, but once they establish, I am pulling them out all year. Each bud grows a large seed pod with about ten seeds each. look at the pictures and do the math!

Still love them though.

Here are some more spring pictures. I also enjoy dwarf conifers-

Here is an Acrocona Spruce which develops bright red/pink cones on the tips of it's branches. It grows about 4- 6" a year

It's been grey here in SoCal all month...today is 60 something & grey...but May will be getting merry indeed by the end of the week according to the 5 day forecast---88, 89 degree highs---BEACH WEATHER!!

This is how I imagine Fräulein Rommel's Christmas tree looks ... adorned with some additional handcuffs of course.   ;D

The turkeys are cool, we have them around us as well. The bear, I would have to fear a bit. We don't have bear here in Chicagoland
