No, don't go to Gibson.com. There isn't one.Just a nice discussion:

I know we're all dreaming 'bout EB2 and NonRev reissues. But what would be the best bass to produce for Gibson for the next couple of years? Staying in the shortscale mud niche? A new take on a bird? Take advantage of the ongoing semisolid popularity?

A nicely done NonRev would be killer, if it is offered on alot of (vintage or not) colours would be great and two style necks (one narrow and one wide, we don't use "theotherbrandsmodelsforreferencehere") would be even better.

I know, I'm a dreamer.

I think a reissue of the LP Triumph in multiple finishes would be cool.  I wouldn't have to have the same NASA controls as before, but the basic body, neck, pups and inlays of the old one would be very nice.  They could even do a semi-hollow version.
I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

From a marketing standpoint, a T-Bird in between an Epi and Studio might make sense, but only if they could make a budget T-Bird without sacrificing quality.  That most likely would be extremely difficult.  Personally, I'd like a NonRev or EB-1 reissue, but I realize that won't happen.

A 1970 EB-1 reissue, i.e. with the mudbucker of that era.

eb2

A 34" scale EB2, with extremely dense anti-feedback block.  And no 3 point bridge - make a better 2 point.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

Italia has a very good 2 point.

I suggested this at the Pit once: An EB2 with SGRI pick ups and pick up placement.

How about a new model, for Chrissakes?!!! Something daring, yet in the tradition like the Bongo was/is for Musicman.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

nofi

a basic long scale ebo with dot markers in a variety of crazy colors.

Almost all basses are based on a guitar model. Of course there are some exceptions. I don't see Gibson making anew guitar model soon, so a bass will be even harder to expect. Gibson have those 339 and 336 guitars which are like scaled down 335s. Could be a nice base for a bass?

I saw they made a new(er?) hollow body model for David Grohl, that is based on a 335 with diamond F holes and a Fenderish/Firebird headstock. Also they did the Johnny A small body hollow body a few years ago.
