One of my favorite LP's, by Norwegian gutitar man Terje Rypdal, had a bad pop in the first track on side two.

I relpaced that LP years ago with a CD but to this day when I play that track on the CD I still hear that POP!

Pure Prairie League has always been one of my favorite bands.  I have 3 of their CD's in my office now...they are in pretty constant rotation. Wish I had a turntable...some albums of theirs aren't available on CD.

From Chicago, there was Off Broadway.  They had 2 albums out, but never quite hit.  They're playing in Chicago next month.

Columbus has The Godz.  I need to brush up on them, but they're still playing here and there, I guess.

I liked the Hydra cuts.  I remember seeing the albums when they came out.  Now that I'm home, I can post some links.

The Godz

And my favorite has to be psychodots, out of Cincinnati (they are The Bears without Adrian Belew)

Psychodots were a bar band in town called the Raisins for a long long time...used to see them a lot.  Great playing.

I'd forgotten completely about Hydra - I still have the first LP, but no player...
