Look who is selling it!

Who's behind windycityguitars?

Anyway, it's not a 1966 bridge. The price is insane regardless of year. I wouldn't pay that even if Orville Gibson hand-carved it out of a block of metal.

That whole bunch over there!Windy City,Shitcago Music exchange, and i'll just throw in Warp drive music for shits and giggles. Are all a bunch of crooks!I understand owning a buisness and keeping the lights on but they take it to unbelievable extremes.Warp Drive just flat out trys to pass damaged and modified peices off to an unsuspecting public.I could go on for days here.....But im not gonna 8)

Must be you and EB2 if you ask me. You're the only two people I know who advocate this pos fine piece of American tooling.

Wasn't this bridge made for Gibson by Schaller? A fine German company?

Must you insult us like this?!!!!

German engineering honor would have only seen one solution for a constructional mishap such as this one:

That said, your avatar wordplay is oarsome!  ;D

If Schaller made it, I highly doubt it was a Schaller design.

Thank you Dave, we've had our share of atrocities, but not this one!

The Schaller tuners of the same era, (or shortly after) are my favorite vintage tuners, for both bass & guitar. They do the one thing a tuner is suppose to do, stay in tune! Not as pretty as a kluson, but much more reliable. Things that are designed to only do one thing, and do it badly make me irritated. Like a toilet that doesn't flush, or a vacuum that doesn't suck. I also have a pair of Schaller Strap Locks for every guitar I own, (except a couple acoustics). Except no substitutes!! I believe that Schaller made the "harmonica bridge" that was used on the early '70's guitars also.

P.S. I just surfed around a bit, trying to find some reference to Schaller producing the Tiltomatic Bridge and came up empty handed, I recall seeing replacements in Schaller boxes many moons ago, but I don't want to blame a fine German company for such an atrocity, based only on my poor recollection

I couldn't use just any oardinary avatar!  :P

Using these as your favorite bathtub toy may be good for quite an OARGASM

Fräulein Rômmélle is bound to pick up on this! :P

I don't advocate for the Evertilt unless one is considering the Schaller 460. Both blow, but at least the Evertilt fits.  If they had it sit on the studs like the earlier nontunomatic then it would not have tilted, but then the saddles suck, and it overall sucks.  The 460 would have been great if it fit the studs, and was thin enough not to lift the strings off the neck by a mile.  So they came up with the three point. More humungous suck.  And complicated.

Get a Hipshot.  If they make one with an added offset treble post hole, it will fit both old Gibson basses.  Or drill it out.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.
