in 001 i want you to notice the missing magnets, the cut electrical tape, the air gaps between the magnets, the bobbins and the center pieces obviously for additional air cooling, the rust is to prevent any additional paint covering from sticking to any surface to prevent over heating and the missing pole screws to reduce weight and improve areodynamics.

in 002 the Mojo'd cover to tell fans that you are a well experienced playing bass

003 a family portrait of this priceless custom pickup

no comments about the Kottke finger nails Uwe. hope Curt can fix this ... we shall see! i'm almost ashamed to post this but strange things accumulate when one buys and sell parts.

Missing magnets? Do you mean there is only one magnet per side and not two? That could be normal, I've seen mudbuckers with that configuration. Is the pickup dead? Do you get DC reading?

everything is either a freebee from other purchases or bought for scrap prices and i don't have an ohm meter since i closed my 'puter shop (it belonged to my partner!). the more i look i think the magnets are at least original. the coils might even be okay but i have my doubts or why would it have been salvaged? the plastic trim has been broken in one place and super glued, it could be sanded and then be buffed out to be made to look nice. about the only thing that is restoration grade is the cover i am sending.

good name lol. last night i dug out another cover and swapped out "the cover of shame". the person getting it is refabbing an old EB Mahogany Ventura and talked about a refin. can't send a crappy looking cover as the one pictured looks like it has been shot wth a BB gun and it has "optional" horn bumps where the pup has been adjusted too tight.

looks like Curt is going to get the chance to rebuild the pickup. it will be interesting to find out what he has to do to it to get it back to proper working order.

If you check his vintage pickup rebuilds in his website, you'll see he has succesfully repair worse "junk" than yours!

So I don't think it will be a real challenge to him.

Yeah, he fixed an old Fender telecaster bass humbucker for me a few years ago. He's good!

Curtis did a Klira pup for me

He doesn't work at 21 Century speed though, some lag time with communication etc. which is fine by me. Folks are so gd pushy now, they send you a email and want a reply NOW. Oy.
