...Psychobassguy had a good post about Lollars a few days ago. They could be good based on his review.

He's also evidently resizing these as a Gibson replacement too, tho they aren't out yet.

Jason Lollar was supposed to make the Lull pickups until they got the other source. Wish I knew the source.

I'd buy a Lollar pickup in a heartbeat. I've got one of his Precision pickups in my fanfret, and it's easily the best sounding Precision pickup I've ever had. I stopped using the Bart 8S after dropping the Lollar in.

He also made me a custom one-off pickup for my EB-1 fretless project. It was just a great sounding pickup.

Some of them, however not so much anymore. Slow production took Mike elsewhere to a more reliable source.

You can't even trust that a Chinese-made pickup has the magnet wire and magnets it's specified to have.

The Chinese manufacturers and consumers I know understand, "you get what you pay for", "caveat emptor", and "trust but verify" at least as well as most American buyers I've met in China...and they don't scrimp on QC.

At this stage of the game anything that is manufactured for export in China and is not what it's spec'ed to be is at least partially the fault of the buyer, either due to ignorance, arrogance, apathy or collusion. IMO
