He was replaced by the guy from that band Metallica are fanboys of: Diamond Head.

I've seen that line-up, it's good, Tatler has some elegance and restraint in his playing and seems to be enjoying himself with the not exactly cerebral Saxon music. He was initially just asked to play with them for touring purposes, but quickly made himself indispensable.

Ah yes, I already was wrecking my brain who that guy is. I knew his face, but couldn't quite place him.
He makes Saxon sound more precise (IMHO)

And it's good for him too, Diamond Head, for all their cult status, never earned a penny, now at least his imminent pension is taken care of. And musically, you're right, he is now their Adrian Smith.

Back to TBirds, here is Paul Martinez - unusual for him as he was (stomach cancer 🫩) a Fender/bolt-on player mostly - with a Rev II:

The Purple connection being of course:

Way to go. I scored some new computer speakers with a subwoofer at work and I can hear your bass is nice and loud in the mix. Rock on.
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

Bass sitting really loud in the mix. T'bird grit:

I owned that bass for around ten years. I traded a Jazz Bass for it with the guy who bought it from him. Magnus had two Bicentennials, one in good condition (the one in the video) and one that was more of a players grade condition which he kept (mostly for studio use). I kind of did the same thing later on, selling that bass and keeping a Bicentennial which is a nice player but a bit beat up and refinned white. I also traded the flightcase I got originally for his original case since he needed a flightcase. It was Magnus Sveningson's tech who dealt with the tradings so I never had any direct communication with him.

That's cool! Is that the Thunderbird in the recording, or just in the video?
