Epi PRO IV w/case $395 BIN

Then there is something wrong with the wiring of this particular Pro. Unplugged, no bass should drain the battery unless you don't play it for several years.

That is a small issue to fix though.

I wonder how one of those Pros would sound passive with TB Plus pups. The effect of equipping a standard Epi with TB Plus pups is already stark.

EMG makes major point in their BTC literature that it DOES, in fact, drain the battery with no cable present and that it is part of its design.

If so, then the drain is minimal and it takes years. But now that you say it, yeah, my Lee Sklar Signature, which I seldom play, did get drained just sitting in its stand.

EMG lists battery life for the BTC as 625 hours whether plugged or not. That works out to 26 days.

That can't be on mine. I have basses where the EMGs last years. Maybe they changed the recipe a while back?

These Active EMG's have been in this bass since 1984. I have to change the battery once every 18 - 24 months
