"The Other Phil" passed away today--Phil Kennemore.
Another great bassplayer & songwriter...& yes, he sang lead sometimes:

There's a thread about him in the Bass section too.

Really now! You've never really listened to thin lizzy then have you???

I met Phil, had all their records, saw them back in they pub days with Eric Bell; just my opinion and nothing more... chalk and cheese

Am I the only person here that saw IGB...?

I believe so. They only played Germany once, on an Easter Rock Festival tour with Thin Lizzy, Nazareth and one other band, it might have been Sabbath in the last throes with Ozzy. I assume that was when Lynott and Nauseef got to know each other. IGB made headlines for devastating a buffet backstage and blaming it on their roadies. Knowing that Fenwick and Gustafson were notorious practical jokers especially, my bet is on them though.

I admire you for having seen them! I wanted to go, but didn't have the money! For all their clever-clever jazziness, IGB were live a force to be reckoned with. They could actually play that stuff live.

I'm just sorry you missed them...

I had some "friends" back then that "forgot" to let me know they were getting tickets to see PAL at the Rainbow and that they were going to see the "Greedy B*st*rds" somewhere in London, so I missed both... (I didn't always get the rags so I had to rely on "friends" to let me know what was going on - I dumped that lot years ago...)

Friends who cause you to miss things such as that should definitely be dumped.  I've already mentioned part of this to you, Kenny, but one of the main reasons I dumped a girlfriend years ago is because she caused me to miss an Allman Brothers concert.  I also dumped a "friend" several months ago who took it upon herself to give me a lecture on why she thought I was putting too much time and effort into a band.

I know where your coming from, Michael, I know where your coming from...

The people round here are a much nicer bunch than most of the people I've ever known...
