I think I saw a young David Westheimer slipping through some of those shots ... Good old days. Now you all want Dwight D. E. back as President, right?

as someone who was a kid in the fifties i look back at it now as a time of great joy but a bit creepy at the same time. think 'stepford family'.

I don't think so! I outgrew amusement parks by the time I was 6 or 7 and never understood the appeal of places like Disneyland.

what's not like about standing in line for hours and spending money for a two minute ride. this could also describe the 1964 world's fair in nyc.

When I was there as a young man in the 1980s, Epcot was a great place to meet women who were already in a good mood to begin with.  Despite its commercialism, I still find it hard to say much of anything negative about Disney.

I have no quarrel with Disney or other park operators and no quarrel with people who choose to spend their time and money there. It's definitely not my idea of fun, though.

I got a free trip there.  It turned out to be way better than I would have expected.  If I went now, I seriously doubt if I would enjoy it as much.

I love amusment parks. I've been to a bunch of them Universal Disney Busch Gardens Sandusky Six Flags and even though I'm 59 and my sister is 50 we're still ride freaks the higher & faster the better. The last two times we stayed at Disneyworld we stayed at their Wilderness Lodge it was very nice we'll probably go again next year.

Alongside small kids I can still enjoy it - I need their eyes to marvel at it. But I'm no longer as vertigo-free with the fast rides as I used to be, especially if they are long ones.

My stomach just can't take the wild rides anymore. I used to enjoy it, but now...... :puke:

I've been to Disney World with the family...and to Disneyland for a day.

I find them great fun IF you can manage to go at a time when they aren't elbow-to-elbow.

My sister and I go down for Halloween at EPCOT they have "The Wine & Food Festival' so you can get drunk around the world without leaving Florida  and both Universal & Disney have Halloween events. Actually if you have kids its a blast for them Disney hands out candy at different stops has a special parade and pictures with Micky.

Highlander

We enjoyed the trip (2003) but DEFINITELY not veggie friendly (with one exception at EPCOT - Tunisia?)... gotta agree re the (unwelcome) queuing but we went off season...

Gotta admit, the place made me feel quite slim... ;)

Last time I went with the kids - about ten years ago - I liked the Animal or Wild Kingdom best. That was a nice modern zoo with lots of room for the animals and I guess Florida climate is a best as you can get approximating African one. The animals certainly seemed to flourish there.
