RIP, Captain.
A nifty Zappa/Beefheart album to get is Frank Zappa's "The Lost Episodes", released in 1996. A lot of the early songs on here, from the 1950s, feature Captain Beefheart on vocals. As usual with those two the songs are excellent, but twisted!
Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?
Clocks.

I was listening to my Trout Mask Replica 8 track tape a couple of weeks ago.  It is a fun disturbing record.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

Clear Spot is when he really hit his stride. It's a fantastic record.

Barklessdog

It is a fun disturbing record.

Much as how it was made. The Charles Manson of the music world.

Highlander

I remember watching a docu on the making of Trout... verrrrry strange...

He'd quit music long back iirc...?
