Christmas Gig
« on: December 06, 2010, 02:09:55 AM »
I recently did a Christmas Choral Concert
(with a 24 piece orchestra and full choir)
and I've uploaded a couple mp3s here-
http://www.reverbnation.com/gonzobass

The first bar or so is missing on both of them,
due to a slow soundman on the PA's "mute" button,
but the rest of the tune is there.

Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" was of course played as written
but the second one,
"A Very Jazzy Christmas",
was an improv of mine over a chord chart.

If you've got a sec,
let me know what ya think?

Yep... works for me... thanks for allowing the download too...

Did they video it....? What did you use for the show...? presumeably an upright... Found links to a variety of their shows... is this the outfit you were posting about earlier in the year...?

Dropped down the list and gave a few others a listen too... some very nice stuff... Cathi's tune is very understated; works very well... I used to be able to access your link from here but that seems to have been hijacked in the UK...

If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

'Tis the season.
 ;)

Did they video it....?
They had a video crew there
but I haven't asked about getting a copy yet
and I had my cam running too.

My trusty Steinberger XP-2
and the GK MB500 through a Neo 2x10.
The sub lows on that MB500 really added some "beef" to the stage.

Mmm... I don't think so.
This is my second Christmas show with them,
my first being in 2008
but I missed last year due to my commitment as Musical Director for "Bat Boy".
I did "Jesus Christ Superstar" with this organization a few years back
and will be doing "Annie" with them in April.

Dropped down the list and gave a few others a listen too... some very nice stuff... Cathi's tune is very understated; works very well...
Thanks Kenny!
"Cathi's Song" was written for the Mrs.
 :)

Well, I actually let the website slide
and I am afraid someone else may own the domain now.
 :-\

Thanks again for taking the time to listen!
