I like the original top right logo. The second version isn't bad, but the two dots might get lost if they are too small.

Yeah, if I go that route, they'd have to be larger.  Still not sure............ ???

i like both the top designs but if it were me:

i would make the "dots" bigger (about the same width of the down stroke) and just the edge of them to the "b" downstroke. might have to spread them apart a bit but try it on some software if you can and see what you think. it would make it look like a bass clef i believe.

iffin' your gonna be a bear then be a grizzly!

something like this only drawn correctly using both eyeballs, little bigger dots and close but outside the "b" body downstroke is my suggestion.

That's pretty cool, sniper, but I'd like to see the bass clef clearly, not just implied.
Hey Doc~ You could reverse the bass clef to make the small d too.
Use purpleheart wood for the inside of the heart thus formed. ...or redwood. :D
Make the lines forming d & b a color (gold, maybe?) & do the bass clef & it's reverse in black.

I did several drawings last night of various ideas I'll have to scan at Kinko's & put here.

Wow, you guys are going crazy!  Don't go too far, I really am leaning toward the original upper right one the more we kick this around.  As much as I love the bass clef, I'm appreciating the simplicity of the original top two designs.  There's something really nice about the symmetry too.

Agreed Bill, Upper right logo is a great design.

A+

It will become what you make it Bill and I am sure it will become what you dream it will be. I learned that as a businessman that I could not be all things to all customers and that there is no such thing as a noble faliure. I lived my dreams a few times and have been blessed many times over.

You will be defined by your returning and new customers as well as the feeling you get when you finally close the guitar case and ship your product. With the effort you are putting forth and the respect you are showing me, I plan on returning.

What more can I state other than the fact that I am proud you are doing my first build and that I plan on passing this bass on to one of my grand children after I play it many many times.

After all the other suggestions, I still vote for the original upper right.

I like the pic with the chick sniper!  Too much routing though.  :-\

Thanks for the advice and kudos too.  I hope I live up to your expectations.  Man, you make me blush!  I am proud you have faith in me as well.  I'll always do my best!

OK, I asked my wife for an opinion on the logo and guess which one she liked?  Top right!  She liked that it looks like a heart.   ;)  So, that's the winner.  Thanks for all of the comments and discussion.  Now we'll get her trademarked and see if we can get them mass produced.

Another idea.  I know  a place where I could have it done in die cast metal, all nice and chromey!  What do you guys think of that as an option???  I love the old Kay metal logos (in fact I love anything vintage).  Just a thought.

FYI, I just got a sweet deal from my inlay guy.  He'll make my logos out of MOP for about $12 each!  Wow, that's a good deal IMHO.

Now I gotta decide how tall to make it..............

Your asking that, with all the Chrome-Boys round here...? :o

I double checked the chrome die cast set up and it's hundreds more than the MOP costs.  So, we'll start with MOP first and maybe look into chrome if people take a chance and buy my future basses.  Now if I could just get my ass out of full time work.............
