HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Gonna be 40 peeps at my friend's home, the Japanese/Hawaiian lady who cooked my first vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner on Maui in '75. She lives in SoCal now.
She has a really MAGIC touch & makes Tofurkey & Southern Fried Tofu taste AMAZINGLY gooood!
She's one of my gurus now & her oldest son is cooking garlic smashed potatoes.
Someone else is making apple pies from scratch & I'm taking Vanilla Breyer's to make it ala mode. :P
Pot luck! Makes it nice for everyone.
Have a good one everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roast dinner + NO TOFU (sorry, Terr) = happy hubby...

No jokes about a turkey is for Thanksgiving, not for life, round here... (might not work if you don't know the original)

Enjoy your day...

I'm about 2 hours into smoking a turkey in the two-compartment smoker in the back yard.

Meanwhile, watching the Lions and Patriots play, and enjoying one of my favorite beers, Shiner's Holiday Cheer...which features the flavors of peaches and pecans.

A belated Happy Thanksgiving to all on this side of the pond.  I was up in Chicago earlier in the week.  I ran across 2 major accidents within an hour of leaving on Tuesday.  Hope everyone who traveled made it safe and sound.
We ended up staying home.   We were going to go to a restaurant, but my wife decided she'd rather go to Golden Corral (don't ask me why...).  She wasn't feeling good, so I went to the store before they closed and got some side dishes.  I went to GC, which was PACKED with rednecks that can't cook.  There was actually a line across the front of the place.  I slipped in, and filled a couple carry-out containers with turkey, gravy and potatoes, and headed for home.  We had dinner, and I watched a game of fumbleball for a while (you know which game I'm talking about), and then a couple of movies.  We miss having the family together, so we made the best of it.

Sounds like you helped your wife on a day when ladies normally get stuck with a lot of work!  Nice of you.  Hope she's feeling better today.

It's a little more complicated than that.

Went by my local GC today and it was a turkey convention - everyone of them badly, and loudly, slapping away at a bass - total wankfest
