Beautiful car ! Always nice to bring something back ! I can't afford a joy ride car (I spend to much on basses ;) ) I did however buy a reissue Schwinn Sting Ray in metallic grape just like the one I had when I was a kid, I love to ride it around the neighborhood I do however get some strange looks !

I had a CAR one.   loved it ....

". . . handled like it was on tracks"

Center of gravity one foot below the ground.

LOL!  My guitarist back in the '70s bought a 914 from our manager.  Strange little car.  You sat in it with your legs nearly straight out in front of you.  The gear pattern was about 2".  You could miss 2nd gear altogether if you weren't careful.  They were also so light, that (as my guitarist did) if you tried to park in the snow, you could actually end up on top of a small drift, with your tires up in the air.

No reason to regret that at all. And I love that you get to ride with your brother!

When Rick and I were 5 or 6 we both got Stingrays for our birthday up till then we had been sharing our cousin Lori's beat up third or fourth hand girls bike. I remember when my Dad asked us what colors we wanted I told him purple! Man I can't still see the look on his face, "purple ? really? aaww geeze". So My ex WWII Marine father goes out and finds me a purple Stingray! I'll never forget that, the bike meant the world to me. About the time I was 11 it got stolen my a local punk down the road, the Cops recovered it but it had been painted in gray primer and was all beat up. So fast forward to a few years ago. Schwinn recently reissuied the Stingray and when I ran across a Metalic Grape one in Towner's Bike Shop (the same shop where the originals were bought) I had to have it! It just so happened that they had a copper one just like Ricks, I told him about it but he said he wasn't interested. Maybe a year after I had mine  he road it and something in him clicked he went right out and bought one !!! It was in fact the happiest I had seen him in years he was like a kid at Christmas! Do I need it naw but it sure makes me smile every time I see it in the garage! Bill a Harley ?? I road dirt bikes when I was young, there is no way I'd mix it with the idiots on a public road.

Ah Scott, I had a Harley for years and only had 10 or 15 near misses!  Truth is, I wouldn't want to ride in public now days!  I'm sticking to 4 wheel speedsters, much safer!
