Chris P.

RIP Sadie. I really feel sorry for you. My cats are my kids and I haven't seen them in weeks. I know a bit how it feels. Sadie looks a lot like my Booker T.
Take care, bro!

Thanks Chris!

Wow, it's been almost a week. It's been chilly here, but is warming up a bit, so the crickets are out again. Last week I was awakened around 6 in the morning two days in a row by a cricket outside my window. Both times I sat with Sadie - the first time in the picture posted earlier when she seemed ok, and again the morning when she was sick. Hearing the crickets just now, I started crying - it's pulling up emotions that I haven't been able to get out until now.

Thanks again everyone for your support and for sharing your own stories - it really means a lot!

this is a quote my wife found after our last dog died.

"we who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle,
  easily and often breached.
unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way.
we cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan."
