Don't watch this unless you're somewhere you can cry a bit.

Some of us got into this to get rich (ha ha), get laid, have fun, or maybe even avoid responsibility. Maybe even all of the above. Most of what we play is loud and fun and not usually very subtle, but music at its core speaks to and feeds the soul. Sometimes it even saves lives. This video reminds me of what music really means to me.

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

To live through Hell and never learn to hate, and to have nothing but love in her heart, is a level of strength and optimism that I will almost certainly never  acheive. If there is a Heaven, I would expect she will be ushered straight to the front row upon arrival. That piece was absolutely beautiful. Thank You!

I'll have to look at this undisturbed.

I saw Theresienstadt only last year (or the one before). While the Czech city can't be blamed for what happened there under German occupation, it has never recovered and remains a solemn, sad and even eerie place to this day. As if the bricks and mortar there were forever ashamed of what happened in their confinements.

That is a touching and memorable story - and also an example of how powerful a clean, simple, well edited piece of video can be.

Amazing woman! Hard to believe that she can still play that well from memory at her age! As I get more in tune to the "Senior Comunity", with my mother in a rather large senior apartment/assisted living facility, I realize how important music is, even more so to the elderly. It's amazing to see someone with dementia so bad, that they have no idea that they were ever married & no longer can recognize their own kids, (run on sentance!), sing! They remember every word to all of the songs from their era & love to sing them! If we could tap the part of the brain that remembers music, we could cure all memory disorders... maybe... ;D
