You short of firewood?  ???  I wouldn't pay more than that for an EB-4L in excellent condition.

Inside every EB4L is a EB3L yearning to get out. My EB4L turned EB3L now leads a very happy and productive life since her sex change. ;D

Funny, that broken TRN is exactly what happened to my '72 EB-3, "Stinky". My repair guy hogged out around the truss rod and managed to get the neck sorta straight with adjustments, fingerboard sanding and a refret. Plus a Supertone 2 for added fun.

My bad I didn't even read about the broken truss rod  :-[ way over priced. The Stew Mac truss rod rescue kit would remedy that.

That's what he used on mine - it worked, but just barely. The neck was tweaked beyond the one-step approach.
