I was happy to get $1100 for mine after buying it for $1000 a couple of years earlier.

It's still a nice EB-0. When the fuzz switch is off it's just a normal circuit.

Can't argue that but to me it's the equivalent of Angelina Jolie with a huge mole on her face, I'd prefer it not be there ;D

I have a FZ-1A in great condition I found in a old parts box they don't work well for bass though.

Admittedly, the on board fuzz (reputedly by the same maker responsible for the "Satisfaction" distortion sound of the Stones) has limited use, but that is not to say it has no use at all: Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing probably the only EB-0F fuzz recording of the the year 2010 here:

projektname: raintunes

song: Venus Found

user name : raintunes
pass word: plainingjet

The EB-0F is used unfuzzed for the Jim Lea'esque melody in the chorus (at 1.02 and 2.30), the fuzzed signal comes in when the melody is repeated (at 1.16 and 2.44) , playing partly in harmony, partly note for note.

You're a brave man.  ;)

It sounds good unfuzzed throughout. Not bad with the fuzz, just, ermm, too fuzzy and not prominent enough.

I thought I should use it at least once in my lifetime and leave recorded evidence of it, right? That sound is so tinny, artificial and broken, it would be real expensive and difficult to create it with good gear today. : - )

Unfuzzed, the EB-OF has one of the nicest sounds among all of my mudbucker equipped basses.
