Terr's back is a bit different........... Here' Willie's

Here's Terr's

It would be nice to find Terr's, but I'd hate to find it here. Willie's is one of my favorite local haunts.........

You mean Terr's allegedly stolen 1953 EB?  >:(

He admitted to pawning all his gear this past spring. He said from the outset that there was a prime suspect in the EB theft, then he refused to post any details when asked and has refused to respond to any more questions about it.

In the meantime, every time an EB-1 comes up on eBay, somebody brings up Terr's. So every EB-1 seller is suspect now? All because of a bass that we have no evidence was actually stolen?

That and the fact that it was stolen from his car?  I don't know about you, but I don't even leave my DR Heartfield 5 string bass in my car at any time (and I only paid $250 for it) much less a 10K instrument.

I understand that, Tom, you and the others who have raised questions. I just think someone's been playing us, and I'm fed up with it.

Only basses I ever leave in my car are my Brunswick acoustic which is a nicely playable cheapy and my SX P bass that I paid $100 for. Their main reason for existing in my collection is to enable me to take a bass to places that I would never take the others because they might get damaged or stolen. I certainly woul never leave a vintage quality instrument in my car.

I keep looking for my stuff that got ripped off, but then again I wouldn't want to know what it was going for nowadays.

If I hit the lottery I would demand an endpin!!!!  I haven't been over to Willies in a while, but they tend to have nice stuff, albeit with Mandolin Brothers pricing. They had a nice Embassy, but their selling point was that it belonged to Sheryl Crow.  As a Gibson bass fan of long standing, that makes me want to blow my brains out.

The things I have done with basses would probably make you all cringe.  When the only bass I had years ago was my Embassy, I'd leave it in the car at 3:00 am, while I went to the grocery store.  The case was pretty beat, yet I'd toss that bass in the back seat without a care.  You could almost say I was careless, but that bass has never seen a headstock break, and the finish has never checked on it.  Pretty unusual for a 37 year old Gibson/Epiphone product.

With all due respect and sympathy for Jim aka EB2 I would rather have Sheryl C. than him blow me. Entirely personal choice, of course.

Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?

Well, I would be Sheryl Crow blow jobs too. I just don't want her to be a selling point for an Embassy bass.

I think I prefer when these threads veer into WWII aircraft instead of some homo-erotic comparison shopping.

I bet Sheryl Crow could deep throat a 1/48 scale Heinkel HE111 though.
