I just got my BaCHbird bridge saddles notched yesterday. The notchless saddles drove me nuts. I kept knocking the strings off the saddles. All good now!

Basvarken

That's funny. One of the reasons why the BaCHbird took so long was that BaCH rejected the first attempt of the Korean bridge maker, because the saddles were notched!

They decided to offer those bridges with notched saddles as a seperate item in the hardware corner of their store. And have their Korean source make new -unnotched- ones for the BaCHbird.

Speaking of BaCHbirds, I posted a new topic regarding a hardshell case I found which might work for them.

I am lucky owner of a first run Bachbird (the thick body 5.5 kg bass) and looking for buy a thinner one. I check regularly the Bach site and sent an email to Roman who confirmed that the basses in black and sonic blue will be available by end January.
Today checking the site I found that also two pickups non-reverse thunderbirds will be available and in my most liked colors: TRD transparent red and DHB dark honey burst!!! I cannot choose the colors so have to find money for four new basses!

Years ago I settled on the non reverse Thunderbird as "my bass" Sure Jimmy Lea played a EB3 but once I got a NR in my hands I knew I was home. These Bach Birds are so close in feel and sound that I am instantly at home on them. I have a tough time shelling out for other basses (ie a new Gibson Thunderbird) because these basses are such a close match to my beloved NRs. Are they perfect clones ? No but they are so close it isn't even worth talking about the differences. Even the Artech pickup though not a Tbird pup has it's charms and imho doesn't need to be replaced. I am so ready for another Bach bird !
