It's not the end of Little Feat, is it? Without wishing to sound callous, they do have experience in carrying on after losing a vital band member (granted, not as much as Lynyrd Skynyrd). No one believed they would ever play again after Lowell George died (and some people probably think they should have kept it at that).
As we grow older, our former musical heroes die, but that doesn't mean that every band - tragic as the loss is - has to do a Led Zeppelin type ritual suicide about it which I always thought a little overdramatic and pompous (perhaps Plant just wanted to leave the constraints of the Zep myth behind and took the opportunity?). When I saw Little Feat last comparatively recently (on a bill that included The Hooters, Gotthard and Deep Purple) they had this "the family who lives together plays together"-vibe. Frankly, they didn't look and act so much like a rock group as a gathering of retired teachers convening for a jam session for charity though their playing was exquisite (ignoring that parts of the set were marred by the young bass player's Kubicki Factor having technical issues and dropping out of the mix again and again).
