How do you post pictures on here? Flickr, Photobucket? Any other ways?

Photobucket works quite good................Free and easy, like me  ;)

I first used Webshots but had some problems - Photobucket has worked flawlessly for me.

The special effects you can get with a digital camera are amazing!!  ;)

I especially like that menu item labeled "Rotate gravity clockwise."

Here's a hint - the easiest free software I know of to rotate and modify pictures with is called Irfanview - I've used it for years.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.............. I just bought a new computer with Windows 7, some of my camera software, etc doesn't work with it.

I see it's working!

Irfanview is a bit odd in that it only opens a small footprint until you open a file - then the window fills out.  But it's mighty easy to use.

I would like to retake new pictures of my guitars & amps with better lighting and add text. It looks like IrfanView might do that. Picknic, an online site seems to work good also for adding text. I just have to get around to retaking all of my photos, maybe this winter................ :-\

Keep in mind that Photobucket allows you to do some editing online. It's definitely not a full fledged editing program but it can do quite a few simpler things.

I haven't seen Windows 7 yet, but you might want to check out what Windows Photo Gallery can do. In Vista you can click on Fix and it gives you simple options to adjust color and exposure, crop, etc.

I've found that the Image > Color Correction function in Irfanview is REALLY good for correcting moderate under or over-exposure iun digital photos. The Gamma Correction (brightness) - applied lightly - does the trick.  Boosting Gamma from 1.00 to 1.25 makes a nice difference on dark shots.  Reducing it can also work well.

One of my favorite things in Irfanview is format conversion.  Just open an image, choose "Save As", select the desired format as the suffix, and save it.  That's it - no other commands needed.

So I signed up for Photobucket and now I know how to post pictures on here. At least I think I do since I haven't actually tried it out yet. My next question is about the size of pics. So what seems to be a reasonable size to make the photos in photo shop? I know it's not a set size but I know how annoying it is when someone posts something and the photo is huge and you have to scroll back forth just to see it. At least it annoys me so I'm assuming it is annoying to others. Thanks.
