I just finished my new Squier P. Peter sold me the body and the pickup, I already had two necks and some other parts.

New pickguard made from plexiglass.

The routing for the pickup had to be enlarged very carefully...

I used the blue wires to see if I put the pickup in the right place.

The pickup is mounted on the body instead of on the pickguard. This way you don't see the four screws holding it in place.

Sven

The front of the pickguard covered in tape. This way I could panit just the back.

Black.

I used the baby-Dremel to make all these scratches in the black paint (and the plexiglass). All scratches are quite thick and more or less vertically.

Then sprayed the thing blue.

More scratches, this time thin and horizontally.

Sven

Red.

Even more scratches. After this I sprayed it black again.

It's a bass! :)

Man, you get high marks for visualizing how that PG would come out.  You had me completely fooled!! Very nice result overall, and a nice placement of that pickup.

Thanks! It sounds great too. It's the same sort of sound I get with my Squier TB, but a little brighter due to pickup placement. It's a little boomier than I expected, maybe I'll try another brand of strings next time (Rotosound now).

Agreed on the P/G!! As I scrolled down, I had NO idea what was coming haha...
Looks awesome ;D

The man must be a stealth Scot.  He has re-invented the plaid pickguard.
