From iPad to iPain to iNcisors, time to introduce Rammstein (and other things) here: I tu Dir weh (I hurt you):

Maybe it's good we lost the war after all. PETA-Kenny will certainly disapprove of this line here which raises a thorny/furry subject:

You're only alive for me
I put medals into your face
You are entirely devoted to me
You love me because I don't love you

You bleed for my salvation
A small cut and you're horny
The body – already totally distorted
It doesn't matter, whatever pleases is allowed

I hurt you
I'm not sorry
It does you good
Hear how it screams!

With you I have the choice of torment*
Barbed wire in the urethral tract
Put your flesh in salt and pus
First you die but then you live on

Bites, kicks, hard blows
Needle, pliers, blunt saw
What you wish, I don't say no
And insert rodents into you

Jawohl, ich bin ein consenting adult!!!
I hurt you
I'm not sorry
It does you good
Hear how it screams

I hurt you
I'm not sorry
It does you good
Hear how it screams

You are the ship, I'm the captain
Where should this journey go
I see your face in the mirror
You love me because I don't love you

I hurt you
I'm not sorry
It does you good
Hear how it screams

I hurt you
I'm not sorry
It does you good
Hear how it screams

I hurt you
I'm not sorry
It does you good
Hear how it screams

Just what kind of lawyer are you...?  ;D

It never ceases to amaze me just how great the German sense of humour is - much under-rated over here... luckily I had the advantage of a German neighbour for several years until he fell out with his wife and moved out... he had a very nice old strat and (IMO) a much nicer all maple L6 with a Strat pup between the humbuckers - loaned her to me during one summer and I just loved the feel of that instrument... he tended to smoke an odd brand of something or other... ;)

I know you love Strat players but most of my faves have been Les Paul players, with the odd SG and 335 thrown in, not to mention a Schenker or two on a V, oh yeah and a memory of a six piece Skynyrd with Collins on a Firebird and Rossington on an SG blasting out Freebirds, forever seared into my mind...

Oh for a time machine and to go back and be in the audience at the Filmore East the nights the Allmans recorded THAT album...

That is indeed a nice trick.  My HTC hero phone does the same, although that's usually just a way to make small text readable on its phone-size screen.

For some years I carried a Halliburton aluminum briefcase, but I've changed to a classic leather briefcase...works out pretty well.  Carries the netbook easily, and I usually take it with me even on vacation since it doubles as a general tote.

I love the bag - the hat is nice too but I'm just not a hat person.

I have to ask, do you have a tweed sport coat with suede elbow patches?  ;D

When they make an iPad that does as many things as a 10" screen laptop that costs less than half the price of an iPad I might consider one.  I can record music on my laptop, make video phone calls, surf for porn, check email, listen to music and watch movies on it - as well as read books and newspapers.
Cheers

Nope...but plenty of fedoras.   That one is a light grey Stetson Whippet about 60 years old. Bing Crosby endorsed the Whippet and they are sought-after now. Beautiful hats.

Wonderous brave new world - I'm writing this with the iPad I just bought for Edith!

To be honest, the iPads have taken off faster than I thought they would.  Apple clearly has a winner there.

Cool!  I was having trouble tapping a link I wanted because the type was too small but the enlarge feature made things much easier to tap on.  A clever solution!  I think it's a great idea and I'm a big fan of functional and compact!

Last week I went to the Apple store with a friend so we could get his iPhone 4 set up so I got to play with the iPad for a bit. From what I saw, I really enjoyed the iPad and I know that I really like my iPhone. I don't plan to get the iPad till maybe the next version though. Too many things coming out this year that I need to buy along with the new iPhone to replace my aging 3G.
There are many in this world that call me Darrol, feel free to be apart of that group.

All I can say is - don't pop for an iPhone until you have given a HTC Evo or Hero with the Droid system a thorough test drive.

My daughter's techno-boyfriend just dropped the iPhone for an HTC Evo...I have a Hero.  They're very impressive.

The iPad came, saw and conquered. Edith totally loves it. I can now buy countless further basses! Thanks for the inspiration, Bill. You got a crappy bridge in return!

The best gadget I bought in years was my Android G1 phone last year. (or was it the year before?) It is superiour in internetting to my girlfriends iPhone which I used a lot before I had the G1. I expect upcoming android pad's to be just as superiour to the iPad.
But maybe a next generation android phone with twice the pixels would be enough for all my in the train/on the couch/in the car (not driving)/walking in the city computing/internet needs.

I only wanted the ipad for web surfing, calendar and contacts.  I'm fine with my Verizon service and phone.  It's working out fine.
