A little photo fun with my cherry BaCH TH-1 conversion to a Lull pick up.

Some stripped body shots

Mahogany blocks cut to fit the exsisting rout and some Lull pup shots + a black headstock

And finished up, obligatory Subaru shots.
Note Scott's kicka$$ PG complete with the "stamp" of approval, thanks for the great job on it

And kissin' cousins, or Johnny Walker Red and Black if you please.

That came out great!

How'd you get the red logo on the TRC?

Hornisse

Looks great Mark!  It looks like the black body (early series) has a slightly bigger upper horn part.  Or am I just seeing things?  I miss my black one but it is in good hands.

Beautiful pair of birds.    Really liking the headstock in black....

i think it is the PG issue someone raised a while back.  the whole thing seems closer to the neck...  Mark are those birds from different runs...

Maybe the newer ones need a little extra  at the neck.

I am waiting for my lull right now so i will be a copy cat but i will  be ordering a plain white PG from Scott once the pup shows up.

Thanks guys!

The red TRC is from a Nikki Sixx Mk. II, I'm probably going to add a very thin white polystyrene undereneath it to actually show off it's shape - a small detail. The black one is from BaCh's second group so it's a little thinner and I think it's fretboard does come a little further into the body - that and the shoulders on it's PG (cut by Paul Chandler) push it back too. The cherry is from the third run so a little thicker body and other details noted in the BaCHbird thread and as noted in some of the Gibson threads of late there seems to be two different PG shapes.......Gibson and BaCH, no two basses exactly alike  ;)   I have to say the Lull up is an immense improvement over the Artec and when just a single one is used you get a bass with a loud, warm, growly, tight voice - I highly reccomend them!

Really nice pair Mark.

I am so envious of your Lull Bird & pups you seem to be able to buy at will. I would love to get a pair, but not going to happen.

I have been meaning to ask you Mark, how do you compare the Non reverses to your reverses-ergonomically & sound?

Hey John, which bass would you want to put Lull pups in? I may, later this year buy another pair for my white '89 to replace it's "skinned" Gibsons along with a rewire to vintage configuration - Same for the Nikki Sixx MK.II, I have dig around here in the forum and find those diagrams.
Re the Non reverse and Reverse shapes I much prefer the Reverse! Especially asthetically, it's not even a contest - ergonomically the same holds true, reverses are much easier to play for me, but no complaints here, NR's rock!  I have my 3 NR's (the Big Pinkie and the 2 BaCH's) and enjoy them for what they are, pretty good copies. They are constructed the same way as the original Gibson and with a Lull pup you get the vintage voice, and you can take them out to shows with far less concerns about theft or damage compared to the real deal.
I dont have any soundclips of this bass specifically yet, it's only been finished for a day now! However this is a me and the band live covering "Paranoid", I'm playing the Lull thru my Traynor, the bass is pretty upfront in the mix, Bach's with Lull pups sound very similar.....Sorry for the crappy playing! We have a new drummer now, the band is way better!

Mark - great recording, super editing on the video.  That is a great take - super bass work, solid guitar, nice lead vocal...serious rocking going on there!!!!!

Great sound on the clip Mark, to my ears does not sound as much like a Tbird as I have in my head. Nice tone & playing though.

Could be just me or your settings/

Have BaCH changed the body shape that significantly...? or are the pg's that significantly differing...

Bach has changed the shape of the body a bit. Both guards are from the same batch. My black Bach early series( the tail is a little fat, I have since trimmed it. and my trans red later series with the thicker body

It's likely a combination of things, but mostly that BaCh's shape differs some from the original Gibson, while Scott's PG and the one I had cut by Paul Chandler are faithful to the two variations used.
