I love peters lotto.. that was my inspirational force.    I am planning on using an esp pbass lake placid blue i have had laying around for about 15 years.

As far as the neck pickup -   i have had 2 originals over the years and still have a modified one.  the original HB maybe even muddier than the mudbucker in my gibbies....not sure if i was heard or felt more thru my svt back when.

Nice looking Tele II, but normally the HB will blow the single-coil PUP completely out of the water so what did you do to make 'm match volume wise ? Or do you just turn the vol-pot for a the HB down to 1  ;)

And just to keep on topic...... I've got a SG Bass as well but I never can bring myself to calling it a RI .....  ;D

I really love this bass, it's been my main squeeze for gigs with my regular band over the last year......

Welcome !!

I am in the process of starting up a lotto bass build.  very similar to this mod except the bridge pickup is slightly further back.   I was actually thinking the lotto spot may be too far back.  how does your bridge pickup sound solo and both together.  I will probably go with a larger guard so i may just route a huge hole and slide it around to find the sweetest spot.

here is the stock lotto picture

Beautiful plan, Jim!  8)  You won't regret it. My luthier described the sound after the first notes: "it sound like a good Precision-with-a-big-Ampeg-stack"

.... love my '62 reissue MIJ Precision!

I suppose this is technically a re-issue since it's a copy of the Mosrite....this one is a 70's Aria Diamond, made by Matsumoku BEFORE they changed the name on it to Univox Hi-Flyer:

And Uwe, this one spent some time in Germany, according to the sticker on the headstock:

It has more chips on the outer edges than you can see, because yours truly has cleverly covered the chipped black areas with a black Sharpie.  Love those high-end finish repair jobs, don'cha?

Also, if you look carefully, you'll see the string spacing isn't even.  There's more room between the D and A then between the outer two strings on either side.  Very odd groove pattern on the two saddle bridge....

Beautiful ! Just love those "Mosrite inspired" models ..........

Had one of those but sold it off to finance a Thunderbird RI ;D This one doesn't look much like a RI with those poleless EMGs .......... :-X  ;)

I still have all the original parts but with the reversible mods it does sound and feel (to me) like a players bass. It is a pleasure to gig with and if I ever decide to sell it it can be brought back to original condition easily.

Having my cake and eating it too  ;)

That's my normal MO as well . Did sell off the Starfire's GoldTone RI PUPs though, no one in his right mind would prefer those over the Dark Stars  ;D

I have heard that. Never tried that combination though.
