I need neither the Fat Girls tribute nor the Ted Nugent song :P

Crucify me, but I liked that version (the little snippet I could hear) better than the original version with Plant's post-adolescent helium screeching. Plant has a wonderfully agile voice and it has matured nicely with age, but I always found it curiously sexless, especially in his Led Zep heyday. Ethereal yes, grimy sex no.

Which is where Ter should come in to hit me one over the head!

To answer the original question: No.

And say what you will about Plant, he defined the song.

Yes, he sang it technically well with that amazing range of his. But I heard no leer, sneer, innuendo or passion on it ever. He could just as well be singing about the price of milk. Plant always sounds detached to me from his lyrics.

That is a bit how I feel about Paul Rodgers on a lot of his songs. The man can obviously sing very well. But to me it seems like he uses his singing talent to get away with very lame lyrics and kitsch compositions.

David Lee Roth, who can't hold a candle to Plant as regards range, pitch and general singing capabilities, would have sung Whole Lotta Love in a way that would have made guys blush and girls squirm in their seats. If it had been written in his range.

I always thought Whole Latte Love was about milk!  ???

That was "No love today, my milk has gone away", Dave, different song.

I think Plant's voice had the intended effect on the female gender,  Diamond Dave didn't and Paul Rogers has been at it too long a time and sounds like it.  Listen to the Free catalog and you might think better of him.

Didn't they do a song about lemming abuse... always worried me that one...
