I tried (but failed) to find a photo of the bassist with The Bottle Rockets.  Right around the time of "Radar Gun" he was playing a funky Flying V bass with a Fender Jazz Bass neck.

That was Tom Ray. He left sometime before Brand New Year. IIRC it was a Warmoth body.

No, its a crossbreed between a shovel and a broom really! :P

Now, where's the closest bunker to hide...
Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.

Super nice guy. We cross paths on occasion. I made him a case for his 70s T-Bird about a year ago.

I saw him on TV not so long ago, playing upright. May have been with Neko Case.

More like a cross between a Guild bass(neck, pickups) and a home made body.

Mmm... MB1 pups... ;D

Any chance he could line up just one of the strings with the poles before shipping? Just one string, any string, I'm not fussy ......

Yeah, that's been his gig as of late.
