Yeah, I was going to buy it but I'm refinishing my picnic table in the garage right now and I just don't have the extra room ;)

That car is probably worth it. Nothing subprime or derivative about it. The real thing.

Nice pelham blue too.

There are only a few true Bugattis in the world....and they are all among the most beautiful things ever made.

I find it appealing, looks like from an old Batman comic.

I couldn't agree more. There is a Bugatti Royale in the Henry Ford Museum right near me and although I've seen it a bazillion times, it never fails to make me stop and stare in awe. Every aspect of that machine is exagerated to the point of perfection so that it just calls out to you and says "I'm the best there ever was". ;D

Deduct 20 million. I just noticed a major flaw. You can't transport a Thunderbird in a case with it.

I'm not so sure about that Al.  We have/had a race here in the hills each year for vintage racing cars and there is usually no less than 5 Bugattis in it. Certainly one of them is a Brazillian replica and another has quite a few parts that were hand made after the fact to get it back to spec but the other 3 are actual real  Buggatti Grand Prix race cars. These cars come from Australia, England and the USA specifically to race on the old Grand Prix race track that was in Lobethal in the 30's or 40's (I cant remember which decade). They seriously throw these things around and get up to some decent speeds too. They are mostly owner drivers.

They estimate the full field of cars at $60 million. And includes Alfa's and

I think this is the Replica from memory

When I wrote that "beautiful" comment, I had in mind that:

a) Many Bugattis were pure racers, and those are not elegant, but functional in the way of their time, and;

b) Although the passenger cars are the lovely ones, at the time Bugatti built cars, many of the bodies were custom made by coach builders.

I don't know to what degree Bugatti made his own passenger car bodies, but I do know the ones still rolling are works of art.

Oh come off it, why do you think the doors open from the front...? so you can slide the case in on the passenger side... it's obvious really...  ;)
