Yeah, I was debating on bidding on it too if it didn't get too high but the price got a little higher than I was willing to pay. I also wanted the pickups in addition to the bridge/pickup covers, the tuners and the case and I would just put the rest of it back on Ebay. At the end of they day I also didn't feel right about buying it just to part it out but if someone else bought it and parted it out and wanted to sell me any of those things I wouldn't complain.. ha..ha.

Well, unmarried and my girlfriend lives 2 hours away!

Thanks, guys! I can't wait until it arrives so I can try it out. I'm already antsy!

They're not the same as Greco pickups, but those Orville/Epi pickups are very nice anyway.

It's kick ass to come home from a vacation to find a new bass waiting! I put on new strings, gave it a basic setup and it sounds amazing; totally different than the Epi birds. The neck is nice and thin and pretty darn comfortable.

But....when I put the new strings on it I noticed that the G tuning key seemed odd, like it was tweaked, then I noticed these cracks at the nut on both E and G sides. What do you guys think? Do you think they are cracks in the finish, is the fretboard starting to separate or do you think the Gibson curse of broken headstocks has afflicted this one? I haven't addressed this with the seller yet.

Ouch.  That definitely looks to me like the start of a headstock crack.

The seller didn't mention it at all (just the body dings) so either he deliberately failed to declare the damage, or it took a hit during shipping.
