I thought you guys might be interested in a side by side comparison of the pick guard neck area. I always thought the neck area was pretty sloppy on the originals and without really changing it I tried to clean it up a bit on my guards. I have three pictures to post. First a original '67 PG, then one of mine and lastly one made for Mark by Chandler. The Chandler guard is .090 while the '67 and mine are .060 in thickness. The original '67My repro and Chandlers

Those pics are pretty fuzzy Scott...
Does your camera have a macro setting?

About the shape at the neck area. Can it be your pickguard shifts a little more towards to neck because of the modification you did?

yeah I forgot to hit macro guess I'll have to do it all over again . Even though they are fuzzy you can still pretty clearly see the difference.

The clean up work I did doesn't change the position of the guard. These fit '60's NRs  perfect. I noticed on my cherry Bach the guard is closer to the body edge, Bach is shifting the design slightly or maybe someone got carried away on the drum sander. The guard looks better on my earlier black Bach.

That's what I meant Scott. I noticed it on your Transparent Red BaCH.
I think you're right. The BaCHs really look like they're hand made. Like I said earlier, they have small differences between them.

Interesting. The original has a tighter radius than yours, which is much smoother, Chandler's has a raised area, and the BaCHs have two fingers which reach up each side of the neck.

This begs the question: will pgs from the first (white thick body), second (blue, white or black thin body) or third (honeyburst or trans red) runs interchange? This could be important in 20 years when we are looking on eBay for parts!

Interesting... Looking at Chandlers pickguard I'd swear they've been using my pdf drawing.

Wonder if the "tail" is a little wider too.
I made that correction especially for the BaCHbirds to cover up the screw hole.

I made my the tail a little wider on mine also mainly cause the originals a so darn thin plus it hides the screw hole on the Bachs. My pattern was a original '60s guard, the originals have shrunk over the years so my pattern compensates for the shrinkage.

And what about the tail on Chandler's pickguard? Is it wider too?
