Nothing wrong with Tommy Roe. There's a place for sappy love songs. He did a few rockers too, like Everybody.

how about another home buy billy joe royal. under the bill lowry music umbrella they were the kings of top 40 bubblegum. you are right dave,  these songs did strike a chord in a young, clueless me. joe south was another local from that period but not in the same vein. then there is garage punk legend little phil and the nightshadows. me and some friends almost became his back up band when he attempted a comeback in the late 70's. phil's drug problems cancelled those plans, though.

I always liked Joe Osborn's bass playing on Tommy's "Dizzy".  Still have the 45.
